What are Essential Oils?
Essential oils are extracted from plants, peels, resins and barks, they are said to be the souls of the plants, as they produce powerful effects that work on purifying, and balancing the mind, body and soul.
How Essential Oils can be used
They can be diluted in other bases available in the shop such as massage oils, mist sprays, liquid soap, oil burners, and radiator clay shapes, kits are also available with essential oils added with full instructions. Essential oils can also be added to bath water, dread locks, thick hair or clothing.
History of Essential Oils
The fact that humans could never survive without plants, make it obvious that the use of herbs, incense and aromatic plants have been used countless thousands of years for the use mankind. Therefore as it is in the beginning where man first dwell (Afrika), as man spread into all corners of the earth, the knowledge and use of incense, perfumes, cosmetics, medicine, and culinary spread also.
Key Figure in Aromatherapy
The first re-known character of aromatherapy is our Afrikan(KMT) ancestor the great honourable Imhotep 'the father of medicine’, as it was commonly known 2,200 years before Hippocrates. Imhotep was later referred to as Asclepius the god of medicine, by the Greeks. Imhotep was also the worlds first renowned multi-genius, as an astrologer, poet, philosopher, and architect he was responsible for the design of the step pyramid, as well as phrases, and proverbs such as “Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we shall die”, he was also known as the prince of peace by the Christians.
